THE FIRST REWARD AT ESTHER
The young woman would hope to introduce to the artisan world. As a result, it's a success ! Esther Brassac, thirty years old, installed at Emalleville, gave a 180° turn to her professional career the first January of this year.
A symbolic date, from this one, the sympathic secretary has chosen to make of her
passion for lace and sculpture her new profession. Henceforward, her savoir-
"I want to live by my passion"
Autodidact, Esther Brassac, who has made bobbins lace since the end of 1998, has wanted to continue her apprenticeship : "I have numerous projects including my wish to know more on the marquetry to create afterwards some real masterpieces in order to live by my passion.
For the sculpture, I flung myself into this undertaking. But I must recognize that I am an inveterate ragger. I enjoy all of is antique."
For almost ten months, she made her little treasures in her 15 meters squared workroom. Her representation of St Michel, made of cloth, lacquered cardboard and embroidered with gold and silver threads in a frame entirely restored, had all the rage in the course of eleventh gravignaise exhibition which participated twenty local artists. However, Esther isn't the only laureate of the exhibition, seeing that Josiane Bertois had the judges prize.

The Saint Michel realised by Esther Brassac, the autodidact artisan from Emalleville caused admiration of the numerous people came to the exhibition.

... It's Esther Brassac who has been rewarded for her laces and her wood and bone sculptures.
Originating from Emalleville, the young lacemaker has only begun ten months ago.
"This idea ran in my head for some years and I discovered a book which permitted to me to advance rapidly. This exhibition is the first which I have participed. I have exhibited the main part of my work, from the most ordinary lace to the most complicated. Before beginning the exhibition, I'll never have thought to obtain the creativity prize. But, at the next moment, I had a little intuition. At present, I'll hope to create still more beautiful laces and move off the handicraft to make masterpieces."


Creativity reward, Esther Brassac has begun
embroidering and bobbins lace in january 1999.
In less than a year,
she multiplied astounding of softness and originality creations.
