TORCHON BOBBIN LACE

It's the same family than Cluny lace. Torchon lace is characterized by a edge in shape of fan. It's a continuous thread lace.

It's a lavander bag with a small torchon lace which required more eighty bobbins. It's a personal creation, without pretence nevertheless.Contrary to Cluny lace, it has a ground named Torchon ground.

It was very practiced to Puy en Velay such as Cluny lace. However, it's difficult to know its origin because this lace has been made everywhere.

It's especially used for edge and insertion.

Very simple, this charming lace is practised particularly by beginner lacemakers.

Like Cluny lace, it's made with a big thread, so it's a solid lace.

This mat is realized with a cotton thread. You can see the Torchon ground which makes it possible to bind the motif between them.

Center of my first mat.

It realized from a model of Bridget Mac Cook's basic book.

It required the use of eighty bobbins.

The realization of spirit stitches is a great pleasure and satisfaction for a lacemaker.
